Students accessing counseling services are often troubled by the past or anxious about the future. An art therapy group was offered to university students interested in creatively addressing challenges affecting their well-being. This presentation will examines students’ individual and collective journey visually, and highlights key ingredients found most useful in making changes. Themes of resilience, mindfulness and self-compassion will be discussed.

Sophie Vinette holds a BA in psychology and a master of social work degree from the University of Ottawa. She later completed an advanced diploma in art therapy through VATI. When she is not busy painting or working as a counselor at UBC-Okanagan, she likes to unleash her creativity by cooking like a fearless amateur chef. She also enjoys yoga, photography and the outdoors (but only if the mosquitoes behave).
